Dan has been a member of Olson Kundig Architects since 2000, becoming a principal in 2010. A detailed designer, Dan has been involved in the design and management of complicated residential projects in the United States, Korea and Taiwan. These projects, many of them confidential, are often for process-oriented, high-expectation clients and involve the skillful coordination of many different levels of stakeholders.

Dan served as project manager and designer for Artist’s Studio in Seattle, which won a Grand Award in Architectural Interiors in the Residential Architect Design Awards, and an Honorable Mention in the International Interior Design Association (IIDA) Northern Pacific Chapter IN Awards. Commercial and residential projects on which he’s worked have been published in numerous publications worldwide including Architectural Record, Art + Auction, and Residential Architect. Other projects on which he worked are featured in the book Jim Olson Houses (Monacelli Press, 2010). Dan’s current projects include high-end residences in Connecticut and Asia, an office building in Seoul, Korea for a major fashion-based company, and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation Visitor Center.

Dan collaborates with Kevin Kudo-King on the hiring of architectural staff and oversaw the firm’s staffing for two years. Dan regularly teaches design studios in the Design Department at Bellevue College, where he also serves as a guest critic and lecturer. He holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Washington State University.
