Kevin joined Olson Kundig Architects in 1996, becoming a principal in 2010. He has over seventeen years of experience in architecture and has managed residential, institutional and commercial projects throughout the United States and in Asia. Kevin’s current projects include the Bellevue Botanical Garden Visitor Center, Tacoma Art Museum Plaza Redesign, the mixed-use Art Stable in downtown Seattle, and high-end residences in Korea and Taiwan.
Kevin has considerable expertise in the management of complex projects and working with community groups and local government, including on projects for the Auburn Public Library, St. Mark’s Cathedral in Seattle, the Sun Valley Center for the Arts, and the Chapel in the Woods (with Tadao Ando, design architect). He has played an integral role in design, production, and management of a variety of high-end residential projects, particularly those that contain art collections and major art installations. As project manager for the House of Light, the home of significant art collectors, he worked with artist James Turrell on an installation. The project was awarded an American Architecture Award from the Chicago Athenaeum in 2007 and published in the book 21st Century Houses: 150 of the World’s Best. Several projects which he managed were featured in the book Jim Olson Houses (Monacelli Press, 2010). Other projects on which Kevin has worked have won AIA Northwest & Pacific Region Merit Award, an AIA Seattle Commendation Award and an AIA/IRFAA Art & Religious Architecture National Design Award. Projects on which Kevin has managed have been published in publications worldwide including Architectural Digest, Interior Design, Art + Auction and Town & Country.
Since 2005, Kevin has been in charge of hiring architectural staff at Olson Kundig Architects. He is on the board of Artist Trust, a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to support and encourage individual artists working in all disciplines in order to enrich community life throughout Washington State. Kevin holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Arizona, and is a LEED accredited professional.
