Project Details
Art Stable is an urban infill project in the rapidly developing Cascade neighborhood of South Lake Union. The seven-story loft building will provide ground level retail, parking, and six units of adaptable live-work space. Each unit has an average 11’ ceiling height and floor-to-ceiling window walls.
The expressed concrete frame structure draws upon the warehouse typology of the transitional industrial neighborhood. A language of mutable infill panels allow for the building to provide mass and transparency as needed for each user and for variance over time. Large operable wall panels and a built in crane allow for lifting oversized objects into units. The building will incorporate hydronic heat, natural ventilation and the potential for solar/photovoltaic technology.
