Project Details
Inspired by the clients’ visit to Katsura Palace, the house strives for the seamless integration of land, house and art. The design is organized around three components: the “garden,” which includes the dining room, the entry and a gallery capable of opening on all sides to the landscape; “nest,” which includes the family room, kitchen and bedrooms; and the “temple,” a living room designed to suspend reality and allow one to reflect on the spiritual and immaterial. Sympathetic to nature and its surroundings, the house is an inspiring yet peaceful refuge for living.
