Project Details
Inspired by the similarly sited Greek Temple of Poseidon at Sunion, this house rests at the crest of a mountain overlooking tremendous water views. A double colonnade marks the waterside façade, which opens almost entirely to the outside by means of sliding doors. Concrete fireplaces bookend the simple volume holding the living, dining, kitchen and master bedroom areas. An environmentally low-impact house, it is passively cooled by naturally occurring updrafts, while the flat roof collects water into cisterns for site irrigation.
