Project Details

Located in a residential neighborhood in Houston, Texas, Handmade House combines the beauty of natural materials with simple modern forms. The house allows its occupants to connect directly with nature through directed views and seamless transitions between inside and outside.

The home represents a commingling of Eastern and Western aesthetics and a sensual use of stone, steel, and wood. The front entrance opens to a dramatic 70-foot long hallway that spans the length of the house and leads to a light-filled kitchen and dining room. The house was built by artisans with a true appreciation of impeccable tradecraft, including welders, woodworkers, metal workers, stone masons, and lighting designers.
