Project Details

This single family residence is located on a tropical mountaintop in a development south of downtown Taipei. The house is organized around a double-height formal living room and dining area. Located at the highest point of the site, the space has 270 degree views of downtown Taipei to the northeast and tropical forests and mountains to the south.

Throughout the house, dedicated niches for art are interspersed with large windows – inhabitants move between views of art and nature. Interior rooms connect to exterior terraces, creating a seamless flow between inside and outside and facilitating cross ventilation. Beneath the formal living rooms, a family room level features casual spaces, including a glass-bottomed outdoor pool that spans from one end of the house to the other, crossing beneath a bridge at the midpoint.
