Project Details
The Hillclimb Court project (a mixture of retail, 35 residences and a parking garage) is designed as a visual and physical link between two historic and popular downtown Seattle places—the waterfront and Pike Place Market. The design turns inward to create a secluded courtyard shielded from traffic noise. A retail pavilion forms the street edge, providing a visual buffer for the residential development behind. Back-lit glass-block walls transform the retail component into a lantern by night, illuminating the city’s nightscape and enriching the urban texture.
