Project Details
Working closely with Tom Douglas, Olson Kundig Architects created a new home for the Seattle restaurateur’s Serious Pie and Dahlia Workshop, as well as the wine retailer Soul Wine. This adaptive re-use project took a humble 1940’s building in South Lake Union, formerly a Napa Auto Parts Store, and transformed the space to serve four separate functions: retail, café, high-volume commercial bakery, and restaurant. The design reveals the building’s original steel frame and heavy timber structure. The application of simple, modern components and detailing contribute to the raw aesthetic.
