Project Details
Situated one block east of the downtown Seattle Art Museum, the new Rental/Sales Gallery is located in the historic Seattle Tower Building. Previously hidden within the museum, the new location establishes a strong street presence and greatly enhances visibility. The art itself is the focus of the gallery, with the gallery spaces feeling both intimate and protected, and connected to the city. A series of free standing geometric walls were inserted to create free flowing spaces for walking while allowing slivers of natural light and view passages to open up the otherwise smallish gallery. The walls create small intimate viewing areas in which to view individual pieces in a setting more typical of an office or residence.
