Project Details
In this downtown condo remodel, our clients sought to move away from the pre-existing shiny and bold spaces, and towards a serene space which floats within Seattle’s laid-back charm. The architect modified existing finishes to reduce the amount of demolition and to keep overall project cost down. Polished stone countertops and fireplace surrounds were sandblasted in place and blackened stainless steel panels and mahogany veneers were installed directly over the existing stone floor and casework to simplify the palette. Simply designed furniture made by local craftspeople sets off the client’s collection of books and intricately woven textiles gathered from around the world. Comfortable furnishings allow the owners to sit and read, spin and weave yarns, and look out over the city.
