Project Details

The Horizon Clubhouse is the heart of the Horizon community, providing a welcoming space where the community can connect. The elegant building is set on a landscaped four acre site overlooking Birch Bay. A sweeping, curved wall of reclaimed cedar appears to grow organically from the earth, drawing visitors from the main entry into a grand colonnaded “spine” which runs through the building, culminating in a water-view terrace. To the west lies a sea of ornamental grasses and a picnic promontory; to the east is a sheltered woodland garden.

Within the building, members of the Horizon community and their guests are offered a wide range of services and facilities for social, business and athletic activities.

• A dining hall capable of seating fifty guests with a generous outdoor terrace and catering kitchen;
• An intimate library/wine tasting room with a private courtyard;
• A high-tech business center with conference and meeting rooms appropriate for both casual and formal business, whether in-person or remote;
• Generous guest suites with kitchenettes and views of the bay;
• A centrally located weather station that records and displays local weather data;
• A surround sound theater for twenty;
• Athletic facilities including a lap pool; an exercise room with an adjoining garden; and locker rooms with saunas and a shared whirlpool.
