   Tom Kundig is interviewed in the film "Ginny Ruffner: A Not So Still Life" playing at the Seattle International Film Festival. Screenings occur on June 11th and 12th.

   ” Seattle artist, Ginny Ruffner, can’t be summed up in one word, but the most commonly used term is “inspiring.” This conscious cliché is in keeping with Ruffner’s own rejection of irony, pretension, and the high and lowbrow dichotomy. Choosing lamp working as her initial artistic medium, Ruffner revolutionized popular and critical opinions about this formally “kitsch” platform for her unique and globally acclaimed art form. Adding to Ruffner’s extraordinary story is her astounding recovery from a near-fatal car accident in 1991. . . .    The Tom Kundig-designed Outpost is featured in the lineup of AIA Honor Award winners in the June issue of Architectural Record.

   Principal Kirsten R. Murray and associate Steven Rainville also worked on the project.

   The Jim Olson-designed Lightcatcher at the Whatcom Museum is featured in the design blog Inhabitat.

   Principal Kirsten R. Murray has joined the board of trustees of the Henry Art Gallery, the University of Washington’s art gallery.

   Kirsten R. Murray and Kevin Kudo-King took part in a jury for the AIA Florida/Caribbean Design Awards.

   The jury, which occurred last Friday, was chaired by Kirsten.
