Olson Sundberg Kundig Allen Architects will change its name to Olson Kundig Architects starting January 1, 2010.
The new name reflects the growing nature of a firm that has evolved since its founding in the late 1960s and whose vision is now marked by the rich and varied personalities of its five owners, Jim Olson, Tom Kundig, Rick Sundberg, Kirsten Murray and Alan Maskin.

The Opening of the Lightcatcher Building at the Whatcom Museum
Olson Sundberg Kundig Allen Architects is pleased to announce the upcoming opening of the Lightcatcher at Whatcom Museum, a new addition to the City of Bellingham’s downtown Arts and Cultural District. The museum opens to the public on November 14, 2009.

Olson Sundberg Kundig Allen Architects’ staff collaborates on pro-bono design of an orphanage in Tanzania.
Olson Sundberg Kundig Allen Architects is collaborating with the Mwangaza Foundation and the Puget Sound Chapter of Engineers Without Borders to build an orphanage complex near the city of Songea in southern Tanzania.

Noah's Ark at the Skirball has won a Merit Award at Seattle AIA's Honor Awards
Noah’s Ark at the Skirball, designed by Alan Maskin and Jim Olson, FAIA of Olson Sundberg Kundig Allen Architects, has received a Merit award for architectural excellence at the AIA Seattle Honor Awards for Washington Architecture. The project team includes Alan Maskin (lead designer); Jim Olson, FAIA (ark designer); Stephen Yamada-Heidner, AIA, LEED AP (project manager); Martha Rogers and Megan Zimmerman (architectural staff).

Montecito House and Outpost are 2008 Region Design Award Winners!
Montecito Residence and Outpost, designed by Tom Kundig, FAIA of Olson Sundberg Kundig Allen, received Honor and Merit awards for architectural excellence at the AIA Northwest & Pacific Region Annual Conference held in Honolulu, Hawaii earlier this month. Montecito Residence received an Honor Award, and Outpost received an Award of Merit.
