Ellen Cecil, Jim Friesz and Dan Wilson Promoted to Associates at Olson Sundberg Kundig Allen

Olson Sundberg Kundig Allen has promoted three staff architects – Ellen Cecil, Jim Friesz and Dan Wilson—to Associates at the firm.

Ellen Cecil has been with Olson Sundberg Kundig Allen since 1996, where she has managed both private and public projects from conceptual design through detailing and construction. She was the project manager for Delta Shelter, which has won seven awards, including a 2008 AIA National Honor Award. In addition to her architectural work, Ellen has supervised the firm’s innovative internship program, been part of the hiring team and is currently overseeing the firm’s programs for Quality Control and Staff Development.

Jim Friesz started at the firm as an intern, in 1993. He has worked extensively on the firm’s buildings at Whatcom Community College, including the Science and Lab Building, the Art Activities Building, the Library, and the Student Center. Jim worked on the Frye Art Museum, which has won several awards, including an AIA Seattle Honor Award in 1997. In addition to the academic buildings, Jim’s current work includes urban residential and commercial work, like the1111 E. Pike Development. Jim is a LEED-certified architect.

Dan Wilson has been with Olson Sundberg Kundig Allen for the past seven years, where he has worked on a wide variety of residential projects. His work has included the Artist’s Studio, which won a Grand Award for Architectural Interiors from the Residential Architecture Design Awards in 2007, and Horizon at Semiahmoo, a 200-acre community of homes in northwest Washington.
